Intended Use of Thyroid-stimulating Hormone(TSH) Test Cassette
The TSH Rapid Test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative determination of human thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) in whole blood/Plasma/Serum samples. This test is intended to detect TSH at concentrations >5 mlU/L. It is intended for use by medical professionals to screen an ambulatory adult population for primary hypothyroidism. It is not indicated for use screening neonates for hypothyroidism.
Principle of Thyroid-stimulating Hormone(TSH) Test Cassette
The TSH Rapid Test Device (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) detects TSH through visual interpretation of color development on the internal strip. TSH antibodies are immobilized on the test region of the membrane. During testing, the specimen reacts with TSH antibodies conjugated to colored particles which was precoated onto the sample pad of the test. The mixture then migrates through the membrane by capillary action, and interacts with reagents on the membrane. If there are sufficient TSH in the specimen, a colored band will form at the test region of the membrane. It indicates that the TSH level in the specimen is higher than 5μIU/ml. Moreover, if there is no line at the test region, It indicates that the TSH level in the specimen is under 5μIU/ml. The appearance of a colored band at the control region serves as a procedural control, indicating that the proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.
